Art Deco Lamp
I was inspired to design this lamp after visiting an antiques shop in Nashville, Tennessee. It is the physical manifestation of my fascination with the both the Art Deco style and the time period that influenced it.
I used the CMU dFAB lab’s CNC 3-axis mill to mill all pieces of out cherry and beechwood, and lasercut the shades out of clear polystyrene. I sanded the shades by hand for a diffused, snowy effect.
Fabrication and assembly were completed in time for the CMU SoArch 4th Year Design Awards, for which I was nominated.
