Rapid Protoype Lamp
At the end of this semester, I had a sizable piece of spare baltic birch plywood left over from my final studio model. I decided to use this scrap to test myself – I was curious to see how fast I could turn it into a finished product using the digital fabrication and construction techniques I have taught myself over the past four years.
From conception to completion, I spent 18 hours on this lamp.
The design is based in the Googie style of late 1950s and early 1960s. It is a prototype, and I may use more refined materials and techniques to further this design in the future.
